Will hand over mine to anyone who wants it, though you'll be saddled with my traditional torrenting nick. Not my kind of scene, I'm afraid. Lots of stuff for makers of music, not very much for consumers.
I've made some .flac copies in supa-secure EAC mode and supa-insane encode quality of the Scott Walker albums Scott 3 and Scott 4 which I might upload to oink.me.uk soon. But I might also post a link to the .torrent here if there's any interest. Uploading to Pedro's involves a lot of toying with gayness, scanned album covers, and ardent negotiation. It's not worth the trouble. But the music files fulfill all the Pedro requirements. I also have a few .ape rips of a couple interesting classical releases (can be talked into reripping in .flac):
Atrium Musicae De Madrid: Musique Arabo-Andalouse (1977)
- Medieval Andalousian music, although you are indeed missing out by not having the extensive liner notes describing the history and form of the genre. Very interesting for lovers of medieval and early music because of the similarities with French music of the same period, and the vast differences produced by the Arabic influence.
Giuseppe Tartini/Camerata Bern: Concerto in D minor (D45), Concerto in G minor (D86), Concerto in E minor (D56) (1993)
- Tartini, ridiculously famous while he was alive as a prolific and brilliant composer and unparalled violinist, quickly vanished into obscurity post-mortem. A midpoint in the continuum between Archangelo Corelli and Vivaldi, lyrical and complex, and particularly noteworthy for the "unwritten opera" quality of his music: Tartini's pieces often functioned as scores to quotes from novels, poetry, and quotes and jokes that his friends had made. Only a few examples exist in documents and diaries of some of these connections, but there were allegedly hundreds and hundreds of lines attached many of his works.
Debussy/Mitsuko Uchida: Douze Etudes pour piano (1990)
- A critically-acclaimed rendering of some of the most difficult and lovely piano music ever written. These pieces marked the end of Debussy's focus on piano and Ms. Uchida's (Uchida-sensei!!!!! ^_^) playing is respectfully nimble and note-perfect. |
