another good point! by FABIO 06/02/2005, 9:21pm PDT
I took me awhile to notice it, but I really, really like how this game assumes my elite commando knows how to throw a grenade right where I want it to go. Most games forget that any kid who's ever throw a ball could handle one and make them all rubbery with some "force meter" that you have to release at the right time and you have no idea how long you have to hold it down to get the desired distance. Even if you do gauge it correctly, you'll have to be prepared to duck when your Deus Ex 2 rubberized grenade bounces off walls and comes right back at you. The Battlefield games are the only ones I can remember where I even bothered with grenades. The simple act of throwing a grenade through an open window 10 feet away is a one in four shot in Rainbow Six.

In Republic Commando, the game assumes you want to throw grenades at the enemy and will automatically give it the correct trajectory and force to land dead on at the area and enemy you have your crosshairs pointed out. Out of the hundreds of grenades I chucked in that game, I only had one bounce back incident, and that was when I tried a tricky off the ceiling rebound to elevated ledge shot.
