i like the combo battle system and the teck attacks u get are pretty cool looking(until u get close to the end when they jus get stupid).

The tech attacks are total horseshit. Any game that actively encourages you to take whatever long range attack/multi target attack works best at the beginning (like Yellow Outfit Girl's Spell Ray, or Small Effeminate Midget's Tango of Death or whatever) and develop it endlessly is asking for trouble, especially when whatever attack has a long and irritating animation each and every time.

There is no way in hell a new version of a later attack is going to match a developed version of an old one; that means I busted out the new ones once out of curiousity and never used them again.

but also being of the FF series this game made me feel boxed, like i could do nothing to effect how the story went, how can u call it an RPG if u have no choice but to follow the tracks. and i had no freedom to go were i wanted the only thing that came close to a world map was the kukai foundation witch had only 2 places that if i didnt have to go there would never visit.

So flying around in an airship before the ending to complete uninteresting sidequests is equivalent to "effecting" how the story went? As much as I loathe Xenosaga, it is only fair to understand why Square thought it could get away with it.
