Things that are great about this game:
1) Everything you roll up in your little ball of junk has a name and many of the things you get are unique. People scream and yell when you stick them into your dungball. I freaked totally out when I got so big I was ripping islands out of the ocean, pulling up huge stalactites of rock with a little dab of molten lava at the bottom. There are arcs of jumping swordfish in the ocean and if you position yourself right they'll thwak! thwak! thwak! into the side of your ball like arrows. You can pick up clouds. You can pick up God, if you get big enough.
2) The ball gets bigger but your little on-screen avatar stays 1cm tall and still manages to push this enormous clot of junk around.
3) The music is ridiculous. Most of it's in Japanese but there's one smoove lounge song in English that has lyrics ABOUT THE GAME cf "I wanna roll you up into my life," etc.
4) It costs $20.
5) Each item, of which I believe there are literally thousands, has it's own great little RPG-like description. "Dung beetle (small) - We sense a little rivalry here." "Hairpin - you can wear these in your hair! Also the name for a sharp turn, but you can't wear that in your hair." "Gong - you ring this to signify the beginning of a fight. If you hit your opponent with it in the fight, you get penalized." "Crayon (green) - this is great for drawing frogs!"
6) The King Of All Cosmos has the funniest dialogue of any character aside from the entire cast of Disgaea.
7) The King Of All Cosmos' voice is the sound of a record being scratched.
8) The intro/ending movies will kick your ass and give you epilepsy and have dancing pandas and elephants shooting rainbows out of their snouts and choruses sung by geese that turn green and all kinds of additional crazy shit plus (true to form) the music is nothing short of astounding the entire time.
9) Liquid-smooth framerates at all times no matter how many skyscrapers and jars of marmalade and octopi and ferris wheels and mahjongg tiles you have stuck to your ball, because the devs wisely employed a rather South Parkish-art style in terms of both animation quality and polygonal/texture detail. This allows the game to look cute even though it's not necessarily impressive on a technical basis. (Not that you'll care once you grow large enough to rip entire city blocks out of the ground because, as Kthor already pointed out, this game has figured out how to properly develop a sense of scale that no other game even comes close to. I hope all the makers of future mech games are playing this and taking notes.)
10) It's pretty short if you only think in terms of how long it'll take to win all the levels. The real key is racking up high scores, or this game's equivalent which is growing the biggest balls. I was proud of my 630-meter-radius ball in the final level, until The King Of All Cosmos informed me that despite it being more than twice the size required to win, it was still pathetically small and I was basically limp-dicked piece of shit for not doing better.
The one downside might be all the balls jokes that you and your friends will find yourselves unable to avoid making. Also, weedhead friends will make a lot of "roll a fat one!" jokes much more often than they probably should.
