NYT summary here.
Question: if the shuttle is not unsafe, why should it be replaced "as soon as possible"?
Question: how can NASA replace the shuttle when it barely has the money to merely operate it and the station simultaneously?
Question: will the White House and Congress be inclined to give NASA the budget increase it needs when, from their point of view, the organization has just managed to blow up 7 astronauts and a multi-million dollar vehicle?
Question: in other words, why would anyone expect NASA to suddenly get the money it needs when the last 28+ years have seen steady decline in their budget?
Also, which is correct:
"The Columbia broke up over Texas."
