Actually they left the code in the final release. You can unlock it (and the gravity rifle) with a modded Xbox and a hex editor. It doesn't work that well, though, since the code that's there isn't complete. Slashdot did an article on it heyah or if you want to just skip Slashdot (which is usually not bad advice) the videos are here.
