I was trying to end my involvement in the argument gracefully (and even bowed out without refuting your last post) because this is a terrible debate. I'm not putting much effort into it, and you're boring, dumb, and keep changing your thesis which makes the proceedings just a silly exchange.
BUT! You have tenacity. So now, as requested, here is me getting trolled:
After losing on the other points, you seem to think you've found an angle where you can get me. Topple the house of cards I've constructed by removing my all important lynchpin: MAP COMPLEXITY. Regardless of this being only a tiny fragment of what makes RtCW:ET a good game, as dead international terrorist Hans Gruber pointed out, you're still wrong. The maps are good.
You say the maps are not complex because they're just "protect or destroy". You offer a Ray of Hope in the form of the possibility of multiple victory conditions.
Please tell me one map has two ways of finishing it on one side.
THIS is the official Worm Complex Map litmus test? How ridiculous. File that with "X-Men" in your "Personal Worm Shit That Isn't Important to Anyone Else" folder. For the record, Gold Rush is (1) Capture (repair) (2) Protect (moving target) (2b) Destroy (barricades, if placed by opponent) (3) Capture and deliver (4) Capture (repair) (5) Protect (5b) Destroy (barricades, if placed). And don't forget that each of these plot points happens in a different location on the map. Maybe some other game has maps like this, I suppose it's possible I've just missed those games. Feel free to drop me a link to some EGA game on HoTU that is comparable. Or Soldat.
And remember, even if you won this map complexity argument in some parallel dimension, that's only one of the nice qualities that RtCW:ET has to offer. Also remember: while decrying RtCW:ET as being a "me too" title, you call for a return to deathmatch FPS games. Which is insanely insane. Most people just say "I prefer deathmatch" in passing, and leave it at that. |
