Saw this about 18 months back, and two immediate objections come to my mind:
1. It's not going to do much for small arms (barring the Uzi / Mac-10 crowd) as we know it because of accuracy. Which is bad enough while trying to aim from one barrel, not to mention the added problems with having recoil jerk your hand in one of four different ways - some slightly to the side - would make that quick followup shot or 'double-taps' almost impossible. That picture you see of the pistol with 4 tubes is funny, but that's about it.
2. Additional logistics complications like weight effectively rule this out for individual use by the military. May not seem like much but it's a *HUGE* deal for the DOD.
However, in any high volume of fire situation with an electronically controlled firing platform this looks like a good replacement - I think this *might* eventually someday accomplish the unthinkable, namely the replacement of the M2 .50cal heavy machinegun (a weapon that we've been using with only minor product improvements for weight reduction, etc. since 1918).
