One of the corrupt cop cars rammed me right off the map.. I drove all the way around the outside of the map and won. Good thing the game was bugged, or I might not have enjoyed it nearly as much!


This reminds me of the first time I beat RTCW. The end boss comes after me as I'm cowering in the doorway to the final area. Just as he gets there, I dash out into the open, which triggers the obligatory "entrance collapses behind you" scripted event. The whole stone archway comes crashing down right on top of the bad guy, and he just sits there moaning and gushing blood for about thirty seconds until he spontaneously explodes in a shower of gore. I win, zero shots fired, no cheats.

It's always gratifying to beat a difficult game with hard-earned skill, but it's sometimes even more gratifying to see a bunch of lazy game designers hoisted with their own lame petard.
