Mars Volta make 7 minute epics with high pitch singing that haters (Pitchfork) say is a combination of Fugazi and Genesis. Fans list Mars Volta on their Suicide Girls or Only Undies Club bios. Other than "Action Vs. Action" by Getup Kids, and Ozma if you count them (I don't), I don't think I've ever liked any emo band. (Fugazi, Shudder To Think, and Burning Airlines are post-hardcore and not emo, I guess). Too droney and not fun enough. These kids all forgot that their forefathers made angst fun again, making it rock - they're all about undoing that work, which is boring to listen to. |
