I guess that M16A2 I've been carrying around isn't an Assault Rifle then. (Although with a small piece of 550 cord tied in the right place it becomes one.)

But yes, it's stupid to ban a weapon because of the way it looks. The difference between a semi-auto hunting rifle and a semi-auto "Assault Rifle" is a pistol grip.
