(I eventually used the Alt-J cheat to get everyone around.) I'll say this -- you can't play them in reverse order. If you've never played a BG game and you start off at the first one... then sure. Fond Memory: playing through in multiplayer mode with two roommates, and having the phones in the house setup as sko communications protocol without Interplay's 'Roger Wilco'. On one of the million "explore the forest" levels a group of wild dogs (wolves?) got in our way. The bunch of us start fighting the dogs. Suddenly, the guy playing the fighter -- who had been specifically told not to equip a certain cursed two-handed sword because it gave his character berserker rage and because he would kill us all -- equips the cursed sword. I hear "RUN DOGGIES!!!" come out of the phone's speaker and every single one of us, man and monster alike, run east for our fucking lives. Great game for the time, yes, but I don't think it holds up. And the story's not worth going back for, either. the dark and gritty...Ice Cream Jonsey! |
