It's always a big ass surprise to me who the Broncos pick. And I get the impression that the guys who make a living at predicting this stuff have a hard time pegging Shannahan, too. All I know is that he'll probably pick an offensive "skill" player in either the first, second, or third round. Just because that's what he always does. Hopefully he'll grab an O-lineman in the first or second round. Beyond that I wouldn't even hazzard a guess.
Yeah, I hear you. I am going to do for Denver what I did last year -- Shanahan can not draft in the first round. It makes the best sense to go grab a guard when you fail at picking in the first, because they very rarely bust, they play for 15 years, and they are cheap. I know you guys won't take one, but it's the most defensible position. However, I've seen some mock drafts that have the Saints, for instance, grabbing a center with #18. Our defense is so shitty that there's no way the team can justify both those first round picks shoring up the defense. I don't want the article to be full of selections like that. I guess one has to make an exception for Denver, because they only really start drafting after everyone else has grabbed a guy or two.
More, the Lions announced that they are trying to deal one of their DTs to the Jets for the Jets' first. If that happens, they said tat they are not grabbing Charlie Rogers at #2 overall, but a replacement DT. I ... hmm.... oh, fuck it, I just wrote out in excruciating detail how fucking retarded doing that is, because Rogers is the best prospect in the draft, but the sheer length of it made it pointless to slog through. Millen is so fucking bad at his job. Mueller and/or Mariucci will be running that team one day after the season ends.
