Nice links. This seems to be a reasonable way to proceed in these journal posts. First, ground the discussion of an issue with an arguably reliable source. Then, confirm or refute it with additional links if more debate is required to clarify or inform things further.
For my part, I’m starting to regret posting that link. As was pointed out, there’s sufficient ambiguity to preclude it from the class of decisive information SB seems after, and Wanniski’s agenda clouds over the real info-dump, which is the report excerpt itself. Nevertheless, while I don’t think it absolves Saddam, I do think it weakens the claims against him, and since these are usually fairly strong, I find that the report does to some degree provide a relevant contrasting force.
Anyway, you’re digging deeper than I did, so good luck in finding an end to the seemingly infinite regress of claims and counter-claims.
