Is that what a jink is? Or is it a typo?
You know I'd completely forgotten where I'd heard the word. It is slang for money. I played Planescape long before the video game, and they made the slang a big deal in the base setting for it, the same way they did in Shadowrun. It added a lot to the game. It was a great setting for DnD and an old aquaintence (we went to the same high school), Tony DiTerlizzi, did the arwork for it, which turned out to be very influential on other RPGs and some comic books. A lot of non-web comics have copped his style over the years, I think he did the artwork for a few for a while. He did all the artwork for White Wolf's Changeling and their Werewolf comic book, too. The 2nd Edition Monstrous Manual has a lot of his work in it. His best one from that book is the Kobold, but it's not on his site anywhere. Brilliant if you can get a print of it.
He writes children's books now, which was his goal from the beginning, so it's nice that he's reached it. I used to think it was a shame, because I figured RPG fans appreciated his work maybe better than other people would, but it turns out your truest talent and what you love to do aren't always perfectly aligned, you know?
Tony uses pencils, and watercolors, and ink. I know roughly nothing about still art, but you know it's td the second you see his work, he's so radically different from Elmore (who does the Everquest artwork now). I remember reading Gaiman's Sandman comics back then and thinking "we gotta get these two working together." And yes, I know who this girl is in real life. No her ears aren't really pointy. No you may not have her number.

...I've always been a breast man, but Tony puts the rest of us to shame, there. He used his wife as a model a lot. Horns not included. |
