If any of you like Dub Reggae, there's a phenomenally good new reggae album out. I've been a reggae listener as long as I can remember. Christ, I've got tons (dancehall need not apply KTHX). I don't know how this one slipped under the radar, but I had to find out about it on NPR, of all places. It's a total conversion of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon," entitled in true dub style "Dub Side of the Moon," from the Easy Star Allstars.
Unlike most of you fags, I bought DSotM when it first came out. They say familiarity breeds contempt, and I'm inclined to agree when it comes to music. I haven't played DSotM in years, and I almsot always change the channel if I hear a track on the radio. Way too many nights spent baked out of my gourd listening to it in some friend's smoke-filled basement. Same with most Led Zeppelin. But I can honestly say I love this album, it's done so well. It's such a fresh spin. At first I was expecting something awful and cheesy, along the lines of Dread Zeppelin or some shit, but this I was really impressed, it's a seriously good reggae album. It has the whole Floyd album, plus a few bonus tracks. If you're even a casual fan of reggae and/or Pink Floyd, it's worth $15. Check out a few tracks on Kazaa and THEN BUY IT. Support good music, you fags.

Just the beginning of "Money," with the
sounds of change jingling, receipt tearing, and
drawer slamming replaced by the unmistakable
sounds of a lighter striking, a bong bubbling, and
some dude coughing his ass off is worth the price
of admission... |
