People were laughing at SB for a freakishly laughable suggestion: that he and ES should randomly rotate between Admin nicks for sko reason of impartiality or what the fuck ever. I can't be bothered to remember it because it was so conversation-stoppingly homoerotic, and you know how I get for the gay.
But we were all recommending that Barbie find some way to demarcate when he is posting in an administrivia capacity and when he is merely shooting the shit as a mortal, because if he doesn't then when he goes off on me it kind of looks like sko Official Site Opinion. In the same way it's good to keep your editor side out of the equation, because a nice, sane, rational editor is good but a nice, sane, rational poster is boring. Think of it as wearing different outfits for going to work and having a nice evening of whores and horse. For someone like me it isn't a problem; my in-forum persona specializes in exactly the sort of pompous intellectual self-aggrandizement that is desireable in my semi-official capacity in Cabaret Voltron (furthermore you'll recall that my semi-official proclaimations are usually made with an imperial prefix, just so people know when I'm being semi-serious.) But for the wild and crazy Bill we all know and love - for everyone's comfort - a little white line is necessary and good.
