Aliens VS. Predator. Dirt Cheap.
Everyone says Undying is unbelievably scary, but apart from one or two shocks in the beginning it was just tedious to me. It's completely on rails YET I STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE FUCK I'M DOING OR SUPPOSED TO DO. OH WAIT, I'M SUPPOSED TO KILL 100 MORE HOWLERS TO EXIT THIS ROOM. Meh.
You could hunt down a copy of the lurking horror I guess.
You couldn't figure out where to go in Undying (which I agree with), and yet you recommend impossible to solve text adenture #43536, the lurking horror?
Unlike SS2, once the scares wear off in Undying, I still found it to be a solid FPS. The only complaints I had was the uneven pacing (about 4-5 hours till you fight the first boss, then it's a boss every hour after) and that it felt like they ran out of time near the end. "Okay, we're going to have all these places to explore and 5 hours of gameplay between each of the bosses a-....huh? Deadline's in 2 months? Shit, ok scrap all that and just have all the boses one after another.". Oh yeah, and the last level turns into some gay Turok level fighting cavemen in the jungle.
Undying is still the only FPS I've played that manages to break away from the "take a step back, enemy whiffs, hit him" melee formula in FPS's. Those howlers were deadly. |
