Like everyone else, I put this game down after about a week. Recently though the old urge to level up came back. I'm mostly cured of it ever since wasting 200 hours of my life trying to beat all the bonus stages in Disgaea, but every once in awhile it'll creep back and I'll be powerless to resist for a day or two.
So when this latest bug struck, I was in a panic. I had no RPG on hand to satisfy the urge. I even resorted to trying to pirate Diablo 2.
fahbs24: Usenet doesn't have Diablo 2 anymore?
FrankMcGilicuty: You don't own Diablo 2? What are you, some sort of faggot?
fahbs24: Yes, I am trying to pirate a game that costs $10 now.
FrankMcGilicuty: Maybe Jhoh can send you some camel cash.
Then I remembered that you gathered experience and levelled in Warcraft 3, so I fired that up again. I soon realized that I had missed the subtle genius of this game when it first came out. Too many times I would pass off important work and goof off playing games instead. Now, after 15 minutes of playing Warcraft 3's bland vanilla gameplay, I'm completely cured of any desire to play games and I can get back to work. Instead of deleting minesweeper and solitaire from office computers, companies should instead install Warcraft 3 onto them. Not only does Warcraft 3 stifle any desire to play videogames, but it extends to all other leisure activities as well. After a few minutes of playing, you're hit with the realization that you're totally wasting your life away on pointless crap and the urge to do something productive with your time skyrockets. Employee productivity would shoot through the roof as water cooler talk, secretary flirting, personal phonecalls, and cubicle decorating are all abandoned in favor of hunkering down to get some good solid work done in an effort to erase the shame of playing Warcraft 3.
So get out there and finish that home improvement project, spend time with the kids, put in overtime and shoot for that promotion. It's all possible thanks to Warcraft 3. |
