Disciples 2 is the best looking and sounding game in the whole series, and aesthetics are the main reason to play Disciples.
Unfortunately the base Disciples 2 has some screwy balance issues that are solved in the standalone Rise of the Elves DLC. But Rise of the Elves doesn't include the advanced campaigns from Gallean's Return. It's possible to port the standalone scenarios from earlier Disciples titles into Rise of the Elves using the editor, but not the campaigns.
But I haven't played in over a decade and maybe GOG preservation came up with a fix?
You will need to play Disciples 1 or read a story synopsis to understand what's going on in Disciples 2.
Disciples: Liberation is not worth it. The main positive I can say is it's better than King's Bounty 2, but that's damning with faint praise. However if you want to read text-based sex scenes between the female protagonist and various demons and undead, go nuts.
Hope this is helpful! |
