| Tried out two demos for Slay the Spire clones
Commander Quest Hearthstone minion summoning where the goal is to reduce the enemy leader to zero health, but units proceed on lanes like Kingdom Rush. Exact same level progression as Slay the Spire. Fun and has a good flow, but the difficulty seemed stupid where every fight is an impossible to lose encounter, except the end boss. The end boss is SO retarded (units with ten times the stats of yours) that I can't tell if he's meant to be an impossible fight for the demo, or this is one of those annoying unlock cancer roguelikes where you're meant to fail over and over until you meta unlock better stuff. Thumbs up if the former, two middle fingers up if the latter. Fogpiercer Same Slay the Spire setup, but you're a choo choo train with Roadwarrior bandits pulling up to you every turn. The movement and position of your train can be just as important as the cards you play. I didn't have time to play this one much. It seemed fine. Will update later. |
