Not super great.
It's frustrating watching him spiral and say things like, "I don't know what to do" when there are clear things he can and should be doing. I also can't understand why the opinions of a clearly crazy and toxic person (one of his recent exes) would matter to him, but he internalizes all of that shit. I'd just like him to exert a little higher brain function and not wallow in the same thought process loop he's been in: sad, even suicidal, thoughts, manic ridiculous thoughts, and thoughts about the girls who want to bang him (there are a few apparently). That last slingshots him back to his awful exes and other traumatic events, then he wants to get into a fight, then did you know that so-and-so showed him her boobs? All while not sleeping for 10 days and drinking to excess.
He's gotten some sleep now, although still not enough, and he's doing somewhat better. I'd like to support him, and I'm doing my best, but I can't help roll my eyes when the exact same shit comes up and he won't even block his ex's phone number. *Just do that.* Grr.
Anyway, maybe just the passage of time will help with some of this. (And yes, he has some meds and a therapist.) |
