| They make a lot of "almost" games that are almost one genre and almost good.
started with The Coma series, a 2D sidescroller that was almost a classic survival horror and almost Clocktower. It was almost good but got annoying and fell apart as you went. Every game after that uses the same engine of large sidescrolling 2D cartoon characters. Scarlet Hood was an almost puzzle game that still tried to include the survival horror elements of The Coma, which didn't work. The puzzles almost worked. It was almost good. Vambrace is looking to use the same engine to almost be an RPGmaker jRPG. I shall see if it's almost good. |
