At first I thought I'd stumbled across The Fifth Element 2, it's so pretty and inventive with the visual design. But then the leads arrived and the film took a nosedive.

The lead characters are written like a cool flirtatious couple doing hip adventures together and teasing each other on the way, but the actors... The male lead is too much of a weenie to convincingly convey the charisma to sell his lines so he just comes across as creepy. The female lead either completely misinterpreted the script or was trying for some anime tsundere performance and failed because she comes across as completely uninterested in the male lead and barely tolerating his constant flirting. What should be cool and groovy and sexy instead comes across like workplace sexual harassment.

The movie is also 2 hours and 10 minutes, which is infuriating because there's an awful interlude featuring the singer Rhianna that has zero impact on the main story and should have been left on the cutting room floor, but I guess Rhianna doesn't work cheap so they left it in.

Yeah, no. Pretty visual design, HORRIBLE performances devoid of chemistry. NEGATIVE!
