Ubisoft Exec Says Gamers Need to Get 'Comfortable' Not Owning Their Games for Subscriptions to Take Off

So this is all in the context of Ubisoft offering subscription services for their games, and he's just making a pretty mundane point that in order for game subscriptions to take off people would have to accept them the way they've accepted Netflix, Prime, etc. Ubisoft sucks, but this is hardly some mustache-twirling evil proclamation.

I guess a lot of people are also pissed off at the idea of digital-only releases, which I guess means they hate indie games.

Also, Fussbett settled the fear of a DRM world 15 years ago when he pointed out that a casual glance at any piracy site demonstrates there's nothing to worry about. Shit, even archive.org is hosting rips (I can't believe they get away with this). Everything you want is available for free, so if you get screwed you can steal it back. Yes, you shouldn't have to as a matter of principle, but I'll cross that bridge as soon as Valve burns the one I use to get to Steam.
