In other news, the full release version of the game has made the ship designer a disaster. I want to design a constructor . . . click to do that and it grabs a random hull from any old ship set. How about my ship style? Ok whatever, how do I change it. Oh there's a tiny button called "enter cosmetic mode". That doesn't sound like what I want but it turns out it is: you can pick your hull and glue on more doodads if you want from here. Except . . . where are the attachment points for anything? Oh to see that you have to toggle "advanced" options. Without it your stuff gets stuck on the hull any old way and you can't control it. Neato. Look for Gal Civ 5 to not have any ship designer, since the devs will argue nobody is using it anyway! :( |
