The wireless part is a little worrisome to me, but not the controller itself.
Note! I have a GREAT DEAL OF RESPECT for the person that wrote the article, he is one of retrogaming's true champions, I own a controller he made and I just generally love all of the stuff he does. That said, if the controller in question is easy to pop open and fix if something goes wrong, I don't see the issue. I have a PCjr joystick open right now trying to get it to work correctly and it was first party hardware. Granted, you should spare no expense if billionaires are funding your death trips, but I don't agree that things are better if you go through a Sony or Xbox gamepad. (In fact, Microsoft would be one of the last companies I'd try depending on at 12,000 feet.)
Interesting! Well apparently it was just part of "non-standard design that did not meet regulations". It sounds like they were diving for 1 hour and 45 minutes and then some or everything stopped working and they sank 13k feet to the bottom. If they are rescued, it'll be one for the record books and undoubtedly a big studio movie.
with some emulators, pressing select and start on the gamepad will reset things.
So i hope they try that. |
