| Leaving the politics aside, there's a persistent fear inside USGov of USB devices. To the point that some departments fill the ports with epoxy.
It's a reasonable fear, as most operating system usb stacks are insecure piles of garbage. I guess there's also the issue of people putting secrets onto usb sticks. The example someone gave about "juice jacking" random people at an airport seems kind of dumb though. What's the one place I can find to hack people where there will definitely be security cameras all over and I'll have to show my ID to get in? Yeah I want to go there. |
