I think what's really important here is that I created a post with content and an image that actually had neither. I thought that I would be a ball of pure cyan energy by this point, having transcended all written communication, but NO.
At this time I would like to propose that I actually hate Doom3 more than anyone on Caltrops v2 hates anything else. Keep the review as positive, though, because that's more hellish. Clicking on the link is a lot like being on Mars in the year 2312 or whenever: ALL HELL SUDDENLY BREAKS LOOSE.
What's most positive is that by 2312, John Carmack's petrified brain has made space flight so economical that we can afford to cart just two or three guys at a time to Mars, which is where the game lost me. Drawing heavily on inspiration from The Explorers, Armadillo Aerospace (UAC) is already paving the way. So we're left playing John's extended, post X-Prize, celebratory life fantasy, and not much else. I had hope that when I saw the in-game UAC poster about "bringing Heaven to Earth" or some such that this game would actually be about some scientist trying to find Heaven by travelling through Hell first. Something like that. Maybe this time it could be about Jesus or Ayn Rand first, and then the cyberDevil. John rushed the Satan card, again, and I guess I missed the email where it explains why what's his name wanted whatever so badly. I didn't care.
I think it's the worst.
