I really started following hockey again when Buffalo was tanking for Connor McDavid or Jack Eichel. I haven't watched every game or anything, but I'll check in here or there. They had a fun 10 game winning streak before the pandemic. They also had the worst coach I've ever seen in my life in Ralph Kreuger. Eichel and Kreuger are gone. This is a fun team now.
They haven't made the playoffs since I started re-paying attention. Their team when I was a freshman in college was amazing. I have this 25 year gap in really knowing hockey players.
This is my new favorite goal. First-overall pick Owen Power with a fake shot, then pass over to Victor Olafsson, who has the nicest or "most precise" shot I can remember anyone on the Sabres having. Olafsson has his stick in the air ready to make 18,000 people gasp and cheer. Like when you have an excellent joke to make as soon as the other person in the conversation stops talking.
