If the sentence still makes sense when you replace the word in question with 'he,' 'she,' or 'they,' use "who. "
If the sentence requires 'him,' 'her,' or 'them' to make sense, fill in the blank with "whom."
So, as a simple mnemonic:
"The child whose guardian knows whom got who pregnant," would be grammatically incorrect. |
