Screenwriting wisdom is to always have more than one character, to bring the tacit out of the labyrinthine "backrooms" of subtext through dialogue. And this gives you meat to feed to the GLaDOS figure.
Also, the backrooms themselves: not big enough. It should be like a giant carpeted Costco. And once you have those vertiginous patterns stretching in all directions, you interrupt them. I'm thinking messages scratched into walls, maybe written in blood. We can go full Fincher/Lynch with it, maybe with a science fiction backstory for maximum weird. |
