| Got one of these from work, and it is awesome.
All the embarrassing shit from the last few years is gone. No more crappy butterfly switch keyboard or getting rid of the function keys. Even magsafe charging is back. They just fixed everything. They even added a real HDMI port, so I can connect to projectors without a dongle. All the USB ports are still USB-C, but unlike a few years ago, there are actually devices using that port now, so it doesn't sting quite as much. And now that I don't have to use one of them for power, it doesn't feel quite as cramped. The battery life is excellent. It also seems to actually stay cold, which means that I might actually be able to use it in my lap sometimes. Imagine that. Overall, this is like if one of those old British car manufacturers decided to make a car with an electrical system that WASN'T shit, but also keep the good things about the car. You love to see it. What I'm saying is, it's good. I think this will be one of the models people look back on fondly. |
