I am using Asana for a personal project by Ice Cream Jonsey 04/16/2022, 11:21am PDT
Asana doesn't try to .... what's the term when a computer has wood paneling graphics for a "library" app? Skewmorphism? Asana isn't trying to "be" a cork board, so I like that part of it. It also doesn't seem to have the stupid, stupid, stupid limitations of Jira. Asana seems like they designed it to be task-tracking from the ground up. FoK may dislike its implementation, which is entirely legitmate, but at least for a personal project Asana keeps me organized. FullofKittens is one of the few minds that has caused me to consider how I work and why I do things at work and I am delighted to be his online internet e-friend. I crack up every time I see the phrase "Thought Leader" on Caltrops used, but FoK really DOES lead my thoughts to places they wouldn't otherwise go.

(An example with Jira being stupid to me: I'm sure to many people the differences between Epic, Story, Task and Sub-Task make as much sense to them as how rocks divide in Asteroids does for me. You can't just have a SUB-TASK on an EPIC!!!! People that understand Jira's Venti shit is like having the big UFO get blown up and then turn into rocks would be to me. I get that I don't care to get it. But one of these made-up scenarios is our employment and Jira should just figure it the Christ out because we have so many other things we are trying to do. I just want to see the piece of work get on some board as easily and as visibly as possible.)

(I also dislike programs - Jira, Ableton and Daz3D are like this - where if you think you're in a text box and start typing, but you're not in a text box, you have accidentally initiated a command protocol to explode the fucking sun. Jira is notorious for this.)

I agree about board scrolling with index cards. I guess I would add is that I never want to go back to an office where there would be a physical board, so I am willing to suffer the difficulties of scrolling boards if it means I don't have to commute again (I am never commuting again).
