Season 1 is great. As far as superhero subversion shows go, I'd put it below The Tick animated but above The Tick live-action and waaaay above The Boys.
Season 2 is still watchable, but the loss of a key character gives the show some real post-Laura-Palmer original-Twin-Peaks vibes.
Also it falls into that same trap so many intentionally weird and anarchic shows seem to fall into where all the really popular one-off plot devices from earlier seasons come back to... pretty much do the same thing as first time, only [i]darker[/i] this time! |
