| I had forgotten some of it, and I kept thinking about the Neuromancer computer game. I think that ended with Case in the beach sim but I forget that now too. I thought the game was really great though.
Reading it again so many years later, I felt like some things were foreshadowing that I guess weren't, and some deeper meaning or explanation was only hinted at, but I only vaguely recall the other two books and maybe I'll find elaboration there. I coulda sworn the alpha centauri thing was in Count Zero, for example. Good news, Gibson straight up explained the wasp nest thing. A lot of stuff just gets explained, so maybe be patient. The most incomprehensible things to me were nobody knowing what time it was (and Molly's time hud being remarkable in any way) and far worse, two sections about the fucking adapter to make the deck talk to the tv. 20 pin to 40 pin. That's an actual sentence. Why. The most emotional part to me was near the beginning, where Case finds out Wage wasn't out to kill him. The dumbest part (from an emoting perspective) was Case yelling about the AI at the end. So yeah, some dumb bits but mostly a lot of fun with some great scenes and lines. I was sad when I had no more to read, so I got Count Zero next |
