The 2nd half of the update is going to greatly increase the possible height in the game, so mountains will be much, much taller and caves will go much, much deeper. They also have new types of underground ecosystems with, like, self-lit lichen caves and shit. There will also be caves below y=0 that have new types of ore and a special supermob that's kind of like a blind Big Daddy that follows you based on noise that you make. I'm looking forward to it.
