| A great easy-to-pick-up-and-play game. Controls are spot-on. Saves load in like 2 seconds despite the game looking like it should take 5 minutes.
The doll house sequence was the most disappointing part of the entire game. It was the one character that felt new and unique to the RE series, and it was the one they did the least with. The whole segment was short, limited, and had the lamest boss fight in the game. I was looking forward to that part the most and it was a huge letdown. I can compare the virtual surround to A3D better: not even close. It's pretty good with horizontal direction, but terrible at vertical and sound doesn't drop off between rooms the way it should. Will anyone ever improve 3D audio to 1998 standards? I'll give more complete thoughts later. In the meantime, I think this is easily worth full price if you're debating on taking the plunge now or waiting. You may not agree it could be runner-up to 4, but I can't imagine anyone saying it's flat out not good. |
