This game was previously derided as a fishbowl sim by our very own MM because the asshole at Out Of Eight lied to everyone for fun, which is fine, there is value in knowing that a game is trash near launch.
However, towards 2012 they were engaged in a decent patching process and by 2015 came out with multiple expansions that added more to do. By now there's an active mod scene and a community that makes this thing appear viable, and the bloat management and automation features do make this seem attractive for my 'play old games on a terrible piece of hardware' run during the holidays. I don't know how good we are at deciding if games are sleeper hits here, for all that Caltrops is great at deflating stupid hype with minimal suffering across the community.
Anyway, I'm gonna get it and play it if no one tells me it sucks in updated, modded form. |
