New shipboarding mechanic update by Mischief Maker 08/27/2020, 5:06pm PDT

I've just been trying to get into No Man's Sky again for the past month with its own new horror-themed update, and while it's a big improvement, I still prefer the much smaller but better-focused experience of Genesis Alpha One.

It's a roguelike where you're the captain of a ship crewed by clones traveling a galaxy sector-by-sector gathering resources to expand your ship while searching for a new planet habitable for humanity. Or habitable for the hideous human-alien clone hybrids you can create.

Now to be perfectly clear, this is not a game where you make smooth transitions from surface to space, planet landings are separate instances from your ship, and confined to a square area where you have to gather resources while fighting off endlessly spawning enemies.

The big thing with the game is all your ship modules have a ductwork section under the floor where alien stowaways love to hide and breed. It's very "Alien" by design.

Worth picking up on sale!
