Hades, a 2019 take on Diablo from the people that did Bastion, Transistor, & Pyr by saltlord 06/28/2020, 10:46am PDT
Here, have 2019's look back at killing your way through hell. I can't tell if it was built to be palatable to a zoomer's need for color or a jaded millenial's urge for a weirdly bishonen-like story interspersed with violent combat and anime spells. Whatever the case may be, I'm sure MM could write an opinion on the action. But he hasn't, the closest we get is from here:

The best action roguelike so far. Dispenses with all of the terrible meta stuff that assholes endorse (being able to affect the odds of item rolls based on what you choose like Binding of Isaac; making all builds invalid except for a select few that can deal with the final boss as with FTL) and really makes it feel as though you can win with ANY setup as long as you have a basic understanding of what's happening, which doesn't require a guide at all. Looks beautiful, sounds beautiful, and boss fights can transform into completely new forms after 10-20 hours. It IS in early access, with the next major patch happening in June, but 100% you should buy it now.

Pretty nice to hear it from that guy. I'd still like MM's take now that it's gonna get slashed down to an affordable price by the summer sales. Currently $20 on steam.

If it's a Bastion/Diablo ARPG with the emphasis on action you want: Victor Vran. NT by MM 06/28/2020, 11:30am PDT NEW
