I came across Ahoy! on the itch.io Games for Web page and it's fun enough for right now when I barely have a video card because my move got held up by rona and the protests and my computer decided to break so I can certify you can run it on a mobile web browser or, like, a tin can.
So. You're a shipwrecked sailor clutching to anything that floats, lash that shit together and build a raft. Attach cranes to collect more flotsam without clicking on it yourself, cannons to shoot at floating mines and guys on rafts trying to sink you, and sails to speed up your search for land, more floating junk, and the game in general. You don't annoyingly die, but you can have your bank of build points go to shit if your raft sinks or the square of it you're on gets torn out from under you and you're not fast enough to run onto the part that's still above water.
Surprisingly simple elements here. They combine to make a satisfying builder with some action. I'm always taking five minutes to fuck around with new layouts and try them in real time. Integrated difficulty controls - slap on more sails and things get harder and more arcadey. Slowmode is pretty chill so I use it to pass time while my meds kick in for a tribute to Jerry. |
