California’s government vs. Silicon Valley by blackwater 10/29/2019, 11:21pm PDT
The government over the past 10 years:
Electrical power used to be reliable. Now we have rolling blackouts because of the stupid decision to hold PG&E responsible for every spark that flies in the summer.

Farmers used too much water. The government solution: desalination? Repricing water? Haha, no. Guilt tripping city dwellers over ordering glasses of water at restaurants and taking showers. (The almond crop alone uses more water than all residential use.)

The high speed rail debacle, aka the train to nowhere. Billions of dollars later, it’s now basically cancelled.

Poor forestry management has led to mega-fires. The government solution: hope for rain.

Gas prices are too high because of gas taxes and “the summer blend”. Government solution: yell at gas refiners like you’re Hugo Chavez.

Silicon valley over that time period:

Google made important advances in quantum computing.

Lots of work on AI at Google, Facebook, etc.

Apple became a 1 trillion dollar company.

Android brought smartphones to even the poorest countries.

etc. etc.
