After the initial recruiting/recalling rush at the start of the game you reach a point very soon where you have a 1-2 dozen units and lack the income to build any more except at a bare trickle. I suppose you could call that point the "midgame" in which case it's a fun tactical romp.
Or you could call the "midgame" a point in the campaign 2-3 maps in where you have units reaching level 2 and changing into classes with secondary effects, like leadership or healing for adjacent units, and positioning becomes even more of a consideration.
But there's no base-building or anything to multiply your economy beyond occupying villages which provide a fixed benefit. |
