We all know they are, but I read this a few weeks ago.
On one hand we have:
Most of the worst offenders were released as singles, so if you’ve been following along with this album rollout, you probably have a pretty good idea of how low Black Album can go. Lead single/opening track “Can’t Knock the Hustle” seems to try to answer the question “How much stuff can we appropriate at once?”
Now it just feels like “How do you do, fellow kids?” at best and eye-rolling appropriation at worst.
They brought in a handful of big-time pop songwriters, it’s got slick production (even with TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek producing), awkward hip hop appropriation,
He also uses the word cringeworthy twice.
If you look at this clown's Twitter feed, he doesn't use capital letters or punctuation. You have a person still committed to that being part of his brand, giving Weezer a hard time for not more things that are new, while simultaneously crying about appropriation. He's like a negative three Reddit comment come to life.
I guess Rivers was supposed to, what? Play his guitars upside down? Record everything backwards? Would that be a new enough, non-APPROPRIATED sound? I don't remember where the discussion was asking about how vile political commentators are versus tech reporters and game reviewers but I imagine music reviewers are at the bottom.
