What it gave you in the first hour was pretty goddamn fun and cool. Slot-car type driving over four lanes, going into bullet-time for tactical planning, setting up shots from your various weaponry, positioning to get weak armor out of the line of fire, etc. It was a great hour! As the second hour arrived, I started to wonder how it was going to bring anything other than the same four mission types (all of which are some variation of kill the other guys and/or don't let them kill your guys), other than tweaks to weapon/armor types, etc.
A quick scan of the reviews coming in suggested that it actually didn't, and it started to feel very repetitive. Each mission has a 10 minute limit on it, which I never came close to reaching, and after each mission it just feels like "okay, now do that again, maybe with a different kind of laser."
This could be wrong, and maybe it starts to expand the possibilities of the design after you get past the two-hour refund window. But I'm guessing it doesn't.
Recommended, as long as you keep one eye on the clock and one finger on the refund button. |
