It's worse in Canada. The pool of respected actors who choose to work here instead of Hollywood is vanishingly small, not least of all because we produce fewer shows and the pay always sucks. It's not unreasonable to expect a full-time actor to show up in literally everything at some point. In the states, David Caruso left his hit series to pursue a film career; in Canada, he would've stayed on NYPD Blue, made the shitty films anyway (half of them in French), AND did a week as the killer or red herring on every other cop show. And instead of David Caruso, he'd be Gordon Pinsent to begin with! It's terrible. |
