Yes, but somehow only that.
The lockpicking is a definitive step down from previous genres. (minor nitpick: lockpicking in FPS games have never really been as fun as system shock 1. Why is that?).
They didn't really improve on the whole stealth mechanism since the first two, and looting seems to have lost its lustre. AI is also pretty dumb.
It's basically a graphical update of Thief 2. With tighter, better designed levels, and an interesting storyline. Gameplay wise, it hasn't evolved much beyond its predecessors, sans gloves. (IMHO: I liked the rope arrow better.) And at least it got rid of those annoying robotic things, to be replaced by..... nothing much really.
Nice game to play, but none too immersive. |
