Forum Overview :: Half-Life II ???

nah by fabio 09/13/2017, 8:16pm PDT I never got all the hype for Half Life 2. The first game did a ton that no one had ever seen in an FPS before. The 2nd one had came off as some tech demo trying a bunch of stuff that had been done better previously. Facial animation and story was done earlier and better in Vampire: Bloodlines, which also had the haunted hotel level that was much better done than Ravenholm (as was the werewolf level). The gravity gun felt completely underwhelming after the awesomeness of telekinesis in Psi-Ops. Painkiller was a better shooter. Half Life 2 had...a puzzle where you dropped a rock on a plank to raise a water gate? Overly long and boring vehicle segments?
