SR has the most beautiful cyberpunk market streets I've yet seen in a videogame. But it doesn't matter because none of the action happens in the streets, 95% of gameplay takes place in a series of parking lots, alleyways, and loading docks. Plus your cyber agents look dorky and their weapons sound and impact like children's toys. And they fucked up the whole "play as the badguy" vibe of the original Syndicate by giving you a spunky corporate handler who's all about fighting the power, man!
Brigador has better action, cooler units with nasty sounding/looking weapons, better environmental destruction out in public with civilians being flattened underfoot everywhere, better music, better lore, better replay value, and a much better sense of "play as the badguy" brutality.
It's the only modern game that's been able to scratch the same itch as Crusader: No Remorse. |
